A Very Good Life.
NOTE: Tola’s note is a journal about some activities I engaged in during the week. Let's dive in!
Code.
This week was very productive for me. I worked on an e-commerce project last week. The goal is to learn how to work with objects to fetch information and display it on the front-end. The focus was on functionality and not necessarily on the aesthetics, but you can check out the project here(view only on a laptop). There are a few skill gaps I observed,I don’t know how to use a single javascript file for all my HTML documents so I had to create a new javascript file for every HTML document.
I also worked on a charity website which I was building to refine some of my css skills. I like the project because it's neat. I advise you to view it on your laptop because if I had to work on responsiveness, I would postpone writing this newsletter, and if you observed already, it’s a few days late. Let me know what you think about the project.
Lastly, I caught up with my 100devs classes. Three in a row, a total of nine hours. I literally had no life except sitting glued to my laptop screen. I now get why developers spend long hours by their computers, it’s not a choice, it’s what the job demands. I still give it to Leon, he’s the best coding instructor in the world. If you know anyone willing to learn how to code, ask them to search 100devs on youtube and start the 2022 classes.
Books
I finished reading Stillness is key by Ryan Holiday. That book nourished my soul. I felt at peace when I practised some of what the book recommended. E.g taking long walks to solve problems, sitting still doing nothing but observing your environment. I got to appreciate life more. I have one more book of Ryan Holiday to read before I’ll be knighted as a Ryan Holiday stan, meaning, I’ve read all the books he’s ever written. The only author that I've read all that he's published is Dan Brown. I’m very close to having the same status with Ryan Holiday.
My next book is art of war by Sun Tzu. I’m interested in reading this because I want to develop my mind. It just felt like the right book to read after Stillness is Key . I started the art of war when I was 15-16 year old but dropped it because I did not understand it. Now that I’ve read further, I know I am ready.
Ads.
I watched this ad compilation of Messi, Neymar, and others. I found it interesting so I’ll share.

Thoughts.
Tomorrow is my 24th birthday.
I feel is gratitude for the life I’ve lived so far. I am grateful for the people I’ve met and have worked with. The friends that shaped me, even though we don’t talk anymore, I’m grateful I met them. I have no grand wishes other than to remain consistent in all the activities I’m engaged in. I believe consistency is the highest virtue I can ask for after reading The Score Takes Care of Itself: My Philosophy of Leadership by Bill Walsh. The man changed Rugby forever by instructing his players to follow simple sets of rules day-in-day-out. The results accumulated and they became the best club in the league.
I don’t have plans to go out because I feel weak from the stress I underwent this week. If I feel better by evening, I’d go out with my friend. Cheers to a brighter future.
Lastly, I’m planning on starting some funny video content around tech with my friend. I haven’t seen any of them around, but they are available in other professions like Forex, and medicine. I’m still planning it, I’ll let you know when I’m ready to launch.
Plans for Next Week.
